The Para Worldcup Ski Alpine racing events took place. More than 100 sportsmen tried to get their best result during five days. The conditions of the slope were great and also the weather couldn’t be better. At wonderful sunshine, women and men passed 3 slaloms and 2 giant slaloms in the classes partially sighted, sitting and standing.

Abtenau presented itself as a sincere host city, more than 300 volunteers gave best conditions. They also tried to make their residance in Abtenau as gentle as possible.

The host city, the Sportunion Abtenau and all the citizens of Abtenau wishes all the best to the sportsmen and the carer team fort he coming Paralympics in Canada. In 2012 the Worldcup of the disabled will take place in Abtenau again and we hope that we can then welcome you again!

Already during the 70s the sports union Abtenau was an organizer of ski competitions for sportsmen with handicap. At that time the handicapped sport still was in the children's shoes and one was glad that there were places which also supported the handicapped skiing.

In 1974 David Zwilling became downhill world champion, and Abtenau's familiarity grew. During the 80s an Abtenauer could also set up in the handicapped skiing for the first time. Max Ramsauer became an Olympic champion and world champion!

Today with the world champion and world cup winner Alexandra Meissnitzer, Matthias Lanzinger and in the handicapped sport Matthias Höll we have represented three aces actively. The sport union Abtenau is a "world champion's smiths" of format!

It is a honor for us to organise a whole world cup week for the handicapped skiing. With heart and brain the big team of the association is involved in this international handicapped sport arrangement. Only by the voluntary engagement of our members and the support of many sponsors it is possible to carry out such competitions.

Abtenau wants to offer an optimum world cup week to the sportsmen. We are glad on great competitions, on the runways of the Abtenauer mountain roads.
